Pilates Foundation Level

The Knowledge Sessions
8 weeks

The perfect introductory course if you are new to the wonderful world of Pilates. These sessions will enlighten and illuminate your knowledge on how your body works and feels when you using the Pilates principles. Our main Pilates principles are:

1. Knowledge 
To become a Pilates star you need to have a burning desire to learn about how your body works and a passion to apply this knowledge to your body.

2. Intention
We encourage you to bring your full attention to your Pilates practice with the intention of doing the best you can.

3. Alignment
Our bodies work to the best of their abilities when aligned around its natural centre of gravity. We give you the tools to self align in and out of class.

4. Length
Without length we have nothing at all. We carry our bodies around in a slumped position most of our days, not really knowing how to lengthen properly. We teach you the subtle yet profound ways of lengthening from the inside out that will give you that long, lean look and ultimately great spine health.
 
5. Scooping
Learning to find, focus and feel the muscles from the inside work to support, balance and hold you throughout your day and in class is essential to great spine health and strength and tone throughout your total body.
 
6. Breathing Its essential!
We teach the importance of full lateral breathing. Yes you are going to hold your breath as you learn new moves but your breathing skills will come and when you have ease of breath you have flow and there is nothing better than a flowing Pilates practice.
 
7. Control
We want you to be in control of your body, if you are not in control of your body then what are you in control of? Your body is your responsibility and we are dedicated and passionate that you take full ownership of this wonderful body of yours. Only then can change happen.

These 7 principles are your foundation to a fabulously strong and mobile body. Time and great care are taken when teaching these principles; we want you to learn a skill set for life. Even after session one you will be moving and walking differently.

 

Pilates Level Two

The Strength + Stability Sessions
8 weeks

Now that you have discovered and learnt the foundations let the fun begin. You would have been introduced to basic stability, mobility and strengthening exercises in your foundation level. In these next sessions you will be learning a range of moves that take you through a full range of movement including flexion, extension, rotation, spiralling and rolling through the spine. Joseph Pilates devised a unique set of matwork exercises that strengthen, tone and mobilize your whole body. We will be working from his original work gradually increasing your Pilates repertoire.

Pilates Levels Three, Four & Five

The Flow + Master Sessions
16 weeks

Moving forwards from Level Two you are now entering a new phase. New challenges await your mind and body. Focus, dedication and determination to always do your best are required. There are some funky, rocking out moves coming your way that are going to supercharge your bodies strength and alignment. Repertoire is still being introduced with the focus on precision and control. As you move through these levels you will be challenged differently with move selection, combinations, pace and the addition of props.

Your sessions are always fresh, mindful and stimulating. Now that you have entered these higher levels you will start to notice your body changing becoming more toned and aligned. Strength in your arms, torso and legs will increase and more importantly the skills that you are learning will spill out beautifully into your daily life, your posture will rock and so will you!
